My name is William "Bo" Bradford
I am a self taught artist from Morristown, TN. I began painting some
time after becoming paralyzed from a diving accident in the Smokey Mountains
of eastern Tennessee. Several years after rehabilitation, I was given
a set of watercolors by a friend. Since I have limited use of my
arms and hands, it seemed the free flowing nature, and its versatility,
that watercolor would be a natural fit for me.
My teachers have been trial and error learning from each painting as I go. I have also studied the paintings and have been influenced by artists such as Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, Jim Gray, and Bill Houston, an artist from New Market, TN. Although some of my subject matter is imaginative, most of my work is inspired by the surrounding countryside in Hamblen County where I have resided for the past thirty five years.
